Recruiting Recap 4/10

RECRUITING BUZZ

Kyric McGowan has been the most viewed profile on recruitgeorgia.com since his outstanding performance at The Opening combine in Atlanta 3 weeks back. He ran a reported 4.47 40 time and colleges began to offer soon after. McGowan now has 9 offers including: Western Kentucky, Central Michigan, Middle Tennessee, UMass, Georgia Southern & Mercer in the month of April.

Arabia Mountain rising senior running back Brandon Snowball made Top 5 RB at the NUC 5 Star Showcase. His teammate Jelani Davis made Top 5 LB at the Showcase as well.

Cedar Grove 4 star offensive guard Netori Johnson was offered by Oklahoma yesterday.

North Clayton offensive tackle Maurice Campbell said that A-Day at Auburn “was SICK” and made mention of a return trip. Campbell has Power 5 size.

Jaylen Griffin, a 6’2″ 226 outside linebacker from Rome, visited Eastern Carolina yesterday. Griffin runs a reported 4.58 40 time and 4.27 shuttle.

Sandy Creek running back Jaelen Greene also visited the ECU Pirates. Greene ranked the visit near the top to date. ECU was the first school to offer Greene and that could impact his recruitment.

Landmark Christian 2017 athlete Joey Blount committed to Virginia yesterday. Blount plays both safety and wide receiver in HS. He looks like a natural at safety though, and accelerates and closes on the ball carrier impressively. A very sound tackler, he wraps up, and explodes through his tackles – this was very good pickup for the Hoos. FILM

Levi Seabolt, the #11 nationally ranked wrestler in the country, visited Eastern Kentucky yesterday. Seabolt is a very aggressive blocker and uses his explosiveness to get the defensive lineman off balance.

Benedictine middle linebacker Chris Harris visited UCF over the weekend following his Georgia Southern visit. The bone-crushing hitter has been offered by Tulane and Cincinnati this month. He had 144 tackles last season. Really big on the 1st Team All Region LB’s FILM.

Class of 2019 running back Jeremy Smith visited Georgia Southern. He will be joining Jenkins QB Javonte Middleton next fall and should be a tough tandem to stop.

Jalen Browder has been offered by Tulane, South Carolina & Marshall in the last two weeks.  The 2017 wide receiver has big time talent and Power 5 schools have begun to offer. He holds over 15 offers to date.

Westminster defensive star Cortez Alston was offered by Cornell on April 8th and Mississippi State on April 6th. Kansas State, Purdue, Wake Forest, Tulane, & Michigan State are just a few other schools who have offered the talented DE. FILM

Sandy Creek rising senior Parker Mallett was offered by Charleston Southern on April 8th.

South Alabama and Tulane are two recent offers for class of 2017 running back Grant Walker. Walker has an all-around skill set at RB and received his first offer from Georgia State back on December 8th. Walker has a lot of visits planned to FBS conferences in the coming weeks.

Big Jefferson offensive tackle Caleb Chandler was offered by Memphis on April 8th. The two time All Region offensive lineman has had a big spring, receiving almost 20 offers including Power 5 schools: Mizzou, Miss State, Louisville and Maryland.

Savannah Christian offensive tackle Zach Quinney has received offers from North Carolina, Duke and Colorado State in the last few weeks. Quinney has excellent size and potential to play right tackle at the next level.

Veteran’s MLB Josh Lee received an offer to play for the Navy Midshipmen on April 7th. Lee has been talked about a lot on the site, and for ample reason. He is a big hitter, with good size and instincts to make an impact at the FBS level.

Myles James from Campbell HS was offered by Navy on the 7th as well. James is a big hitter who was All County and Region last year at linebacker. Expect the senior to get more attention as the spring evaluation period continues to progress.

Five star class of 18 defensive back Derrik Allen received his 19th offer from the NC State Wolf Pack.

Lecitus Smith from Fitzgerald was offered by Tulane on the 6th. The 2017 TE is 6’4″ and starting to receive FBS interest outside of New Orleans. Cincinnati, Virginia Tech and Western Kentucky have also offered in the last month. FILM
