Big Offers On The Horizon For Chandler

One of the top lineman in Georgia for the class of 2017 is Jefferson’s Caleb Chandler. The two-time All State offensive tackle stands around 6’5″ 300-pounds and is a physical beast out there on the gridiron.

OO-Up3r7A rival prospect told Recruit Georgia that he was the strongest player he had ever gone up against, and if you watch his film, you will believe it. The big man just manhandles defensive players out of his way using impressive length and shear strength.

That strength, size and athleticism has caught the attention of a lot of colleges, so we caught up with the newly rated 247sports.com 4 star prospect.

So far the the athletic offensive tackle plans to keep it regional with junior day visits. “I plan on attending UGA, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Georgia State and Charlotte’s upcoming junior days.”

The next planned visit is to UGA this weekend. A source close to Jefferson told Recruit Georgia that “UGA OL Coach Pitman continues to push for big OL. He is hosting Jefferson 6’5″ 302 lb Caleb Chandler this weekend in Athens.”

Chandler has no plans yet for summer camps, but competing for an offer might now be a concern by then.

CW8CdcSUkAAHti-The schools he is hearing the most from are: “Tennessee, Colorado State, and Mississippi state, Tennessee and Florida – we talk almost everyday.”

The Jefferson Prospect twitter account wanted it to be known that Mississippi State and South Carolina have not offered yet (contrary to what was published earlier today). They reiterated to Recruit Georgia, “several SEC schools are recruiting him hard but no offers yet.”

So far, his FBS current offers are: Minnesota, Colorado State, Tulane, Central Michigan & Georgia State. He received his first offer from Colorado State on February 2nd, so things are moving fast for the big fella.

Once his test scores come in, do not be surprised to see Chandler’s name constantly popping up on recruiting tickers. The Jefferson prospect has all the makings of a Power 5 offensive tackle and will be a highly coveted national prospect soon enough.
