Sleeper of the Day

Jyarius Carter
2025 LB
Coffee

For this upcoming season, Carter is seemingly next in line to be the impact senior defender at Coffee. The explosive linebacker prospect is a devastating tackler who is just as likely to make a big hit in between the tackles as he is on the flat. He is aggressive coming off the edge, directly pursuing the ball carrier, and showing good top-end acceleration. Carter is an FBS-caliber athlete and he routinely chases down ball carriers out to the sideline. His ability to play in space, while also rushing the passer has become an all too coveted trait at the college level, and Carter’s fluidity allows for him to cover ground.  Carter is a solid tackler who gets fairly low on his attempts and explodes through the hips to get the ball carrier down; granted he can overpursue at times and rely on tackling with his arms too much. Carter has a decent impact against the pass but is more comfortable against the run. He does a great job of taking on blockers and shows good instincts reading the play, so he is often in the right spot to clean up a tackle. Carter is set for an All-State caliber season at Coffee and appears to be one of the biggest sleepers at linebacker in the state. During the evaluation period, Carter earned an offer from Furman. He is one to watch closely this upcoming fall, as we suspect more D1 programs to enter the picture.

Commitments

CJ Wiley
2025 Milton
Florida State

Wiley shocks the recruiting world and picks the Seminoles. The big-time rising senior receiver led the state in yards with 1470 last season and could be in store for a potential record-breaking season in 2024. At 6’4″ and with excellent top-end speed, Wiley is one of the best vertical threats we have seen in the state in some time. Watch out for that elusive 2k-yard season; all Wiley needs to do is average 135 per game and Milton wins another state title –

Cole Walker
2025 Alpharetta
Wofford

The fundamentally sound cornerback prospect has excellent instincts dropping back and reading the QB’s eyes. His good reactions and acceleration creates a lot of broken-up passes. Not only does Wofford get a technically sound CB with a great football IQ, but equally an excellent student with a reported 4.0 GPA.

Jaivon Solomon
2025 Jones Co.
Duke

Duke grabs one of our top sleepers in the class of ’25. The Jones Co. receiver is a 6’2″ athlete with a long-running gait and soft hands catching the football. His route running is an underrated part of his game too. Solomon is stepping into the #1 receiver spot at Jones County and is prime for an All-State caliber season.

Nykobi Brown
2025 Valdosta
UConn

Brown steps into the limelight his senior year as the premier pass rusher for Valdosta. The 6’3″ 240 lbs. defender has a lot of the tools you look for in a premier pass rusher. He is active with his hands, shows a quick first step, and is a big-time motor after football. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit by the end of the 2024 season Nykobi Brown leads the state of Georgia in sacks, so obviously this is a pretty big steal for UConn if they can hold on.

Quatorius Walker
2025 East Paulding
Marshall

Marshall pickups one of the fastest linebackers in the class of ’25. Walker is an explosive athlete who covers each sideline and has the upside to be a really effective linebacker in pass coverage. Plus, his speed as a blitzer can create chaos. I have a feeling his versatility will be showcased this fall at East Paulding.

Turner Davis
2025 North Cobb Christian
Air Force

Davis has great explosiveness and length to develop into an excellent boundary cornerback at the next level. The 6’1″ 175 lbs. athlete has a 10’4″ broad jump, one of the best in the entire state, and nearly a 38-inch vertical. That kind of quick-twitch movement is perfect, and then roll back the film and you see him utilizing his length to leverage receivers off their routes or get off blocks against the run.

Three ‘n Out

Score’s Najeh Wilkins captures the moment when CJ Wiley selected Florida State over LSU and Georgia. Wiley shocked many recruiting pundits and others close by looking on.

Athens Academy’s KJ Whitehead sharpens up his fundamentals during another summer session with his father. The hard work has been years in the process, and the 2025 prospect has developed into a promising D1 caliber safety at 6’2″ and 190 lbs. With 71 tackles and 4 interceptions in 2023, Whitehead is prime to break out as a potential first-team All-State caliber player this fall.

The NCAA recruiting calendar has been updated. Most notably, the entire month of July will now be a dead period. The reasoning was for college coaches to better prepare for the upcoming season. So while many in the recruiting industry will take a break, I’ll be getting ready for preseason football content, so stay tuned to the best coverage on the website yet.
