For this upcoming season, Carter is seemingly next in line to be the impact senior defender at Coffee. The explosive linebacker prospect is a devastating tackler who is just as likely to make a big hit in between the tackles as he is on the flat. He is aggressive coming off the edge, directly pursuing the ball carrier, and showing good top-end acceleration. Carter is an FBS-caliber athlete and he routinely chases down ball carriers out to the sideline. His ability to play in space, while also rushing the passer has become an all too coveted trait at the college level, and Carter’s fluidity allows for him to cover ground.  Carter is a solid tackler who gets fairly low on his attempts and explodes through the hips to get the ball carrier down; granted he can overpursue at time and rely on tackling with his arms too much. Carter has a decent impact against the pass, but is clearly more comfortable against the run. He does a great job of taking on blockers and shows good instincts reading the play, so he is often in the right spot to clean up a tackle. Carter is really set for an All-State caliber season at Coffee and appears to be one of the biggest sleepers at linebacker in the state.
