Recruiting Buzz

Morgan County class of ’18 outside linebacker Quin Williams received offers from Marshall and Tennessee yesterday. The explosive headhunting athlete was offered by Alabama and Louisville last week.

Peach Co’s Kevin Nixon was offered by Troy yesterday. The rising senior plays his gaps really well and is very aggressive. FILM

Cedar Grove two-way athlete Tre’ Shaw was offered by Georgia Tech tonight. Maryland and Southern Miss also offered the versatile athlete from Ellenwood. FILM

Central Gwinnett cornerback Donte Burton was offered by Colorado today. The class of 18 corner has great coverage skills and about to blow up during this evaluation period. Nebraska offered last week. 

Another Morgan County player received big news yesterday. MJ Webb, an elite rising senior defensive tackle, was offered by Notre Dame. 




Cedar Grove athlete Korey Hernandez was offered by Southern Miss yesterday. Hernandez is a sound tackler and had a solid offensive season at WR last fall.

Jonathan Stewart, a gigantic 6’8″ 290-pound offensive tackle from Mountain View, has had an exciting last 24 hours. The big man has been offered by Georgia State, Western Kentucky and UTSA. 

Gainesville rising senior OLB Kris Montague has garnered a ton of Div II interest. Southern Virginia, Modesto College, Sewanee, LA Pierce College and LaGrange have recently offered. 

Jalil Irvin, a class of 18 offensive guard for Stephenson, was offered by Tulane today. He was offered first by Illinois back in December.

Myles Hannah, another athletic Stephenson player, literally just blew up tonight. In about 15 minutes he was offered by 5 schools. Miami (OH), South Florida, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, and Tulane all offered in that order. 

After being offered by Clemson the night before, Emory Jones received an offer tonight from Mizzou. The Heard Co. QB has some of the best potential in the state regardless of position. 

Sequoyah wide receiver Zach Henley received some mail from Harvard and Princeton yesterday. Henley has good size at 6’4″ and does a nice job of judging passes. 

Dalton wide receiver Zeke Cobb landed his 7th offer from Middle Tennessee. Mississippi State offered last week. We highlighted him and teammate Kyric McGowan last week in an ARTICLE. Speaking of McGowan, he just received his 17th offer tonight from Western Carolina. 

The Lassiter CB duo continue their hotstreak. Derrik Allen was offered by Michigan State and Michigan over the last 24 hours. Ty Hardimon received an offer from South Alabama shortly after his Georgia State offer yesterday. 

Wesleyan class of 18 QB Banks Ramsey received his first college offer last night from Mercer. Sophomore season TD’s.

Langston Hughes linebacker Josh Swilling landed his first college offer last night from Hampton. Swilling has football in his blood and a lot of potential at the next level.

ELCA senior linebacker Chase Burdette announced last night that he had committed to The Citadel. The ELCA captain was a Max Preps 2nd Team All-American, All-State and Class A Defensive Player of the Year (among many more accolades).

Cartersville rising senior Trey Creamer was offered by Charleston Southern. The Bucs make his 18th offer and Georgia State also offered last week. 

Cortez Alston, an athletic pass rusher from Westminster, was offered by Mizzou earlier today. 




Cedar Shoals athletic slot-back Jamichael Baldwin was offered by Kentucky Christian today. The Knights are his first offer. 

Tucker was all over the Twitter newsfeed today. Antonio Showers a class of 18 DE was offered by Southern Miss – his first college offer.  Malachi Buckner, a two-way class of 18 WR/DB, was offered by Tulane & Southern Miss tonight. Gerry Vaughn, another 2018 recruit, was offered by Maryland first yesterday and then Tulane followed up this afternoon. Samuel Bryant was offered by Southern Miss today. That makes the Golden Eagles his 2nd offer following Charleston Southern last week ARTICLE. Running back Chris Broadwater was offered by Tulane today. The explosive rising senior has over a 40″ vertical jump.

Middle Tennessee offered Cartersville athlete Avery Showell today. Rutgers offered yesterday.

Caleb Etheridge, an offensive guard for Mary Persons was offered by Kent State today. He visited Western Kentucky on April 23rd. He was offered by Charleston Southern, Western Kentucky and Samford the last few weeks. 

Decatur HS duo Grant Walker and Terrill Hall were both offered by Southern Miss today. Both are coveted FBS athletes. Update: Walker was offered by Eastern Kentucky.

Parkview running back Deion Slade received his first college scholarship today from Pikeville. 

Tre Person has been on a recruiting hot streak as of late and landed his 3rd offer today. Georgia State now joins Tulane and South Carolina State in pursuit for his services. 

6’6″ 300 offensive tackle Caleb Chandler received his 23rd offer from Georgia Southern today. The big man has blown up this spring, as we predicted back in a February ARTICLE

Allatoona’s All-County linebacker Michael Robinson was offered by Mercer today. Georgia Southern offered yesterday and Western Carolina did on April 16th. FILM

Rising senior defensive tackle Elijah Watson was offered by UTSA. The big man was offered by Arizona during a visit on spring break. 

ELCA rising senior running back Trevor Gear was offered by Elon this afternoon. He led his state championship team in rushing last fall. Gear visited Eastern Carolina, Old Dominion and Ole Miss during his spring break. 

Class of 18 wide receiver Jaylen Rivers was offered by UTSA. The Roadrunners are his first offer. Rivers ran 4.66 40 time and scored a 97.50 SPARQ at The Opening in March. 

Locust Grove’s running back Caleb Huntley received another offer today from Elon. Georgia State and Mercer offered back in February. FILM

Newton’s 6’4″ wide receiver Dante Johnson was offered by Tuskegee less than a week after making his Recruit Georgia profile. That makes offer #1 for the two sport star who also plays basketball for Newton.

Brian Hughes, a rising senior from Richmond Hills, received an offer from Georgia Southern. He let me know that Indiana, Samford, and Army watched him at practice today too. 

Roswell’s rising senior defensive tackle Max Boyd landed his 2nd offer today from the University of Pikeville. 

Zach Williams, a big WR/TE target for Johns Creek, was offered by Georgia State today. The Panthers are the first to offer the class of ’18 athlete. 

Northview safety Chike Otaluka continues his recruiting hot-streak with offers from Kent State and Illinios State today. 

Gargantuan offensive tackle Reuben Unije landed his 4th offer tonight when Mizzou offered. More certainly to come for the high-potential big man.
