Zion Custis Ready to Battle

Class of ’18 running back Zion Custis is a recent recipient of a 3-star rating according to 247 Sports. The prolific Lovejoy running back let Recruit Georgia know that he is currently ranked the No. 391 player in the country, which also makes him the fifth-rated back for the Class of ’18 in the state of Georgia.

Custis has been working non-stop this offseason to improve on his All-Region sophomore-year performance, when he totaled over 1,000 yards of total offense. The do-it-all running back has dominated camps, receiving a ton of recognition at Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Minority Coaches Association and MVP Camp.

Zion CustisHe has lived in the weight room this offseason and has increased his weight by almost 15 pounds, while lowering his 40 time to a 4.5.  These improvements should only result in more explosive plays for the talented Lovejoy back.

Custis’ versatility to pass block and receive the ball out of the backfield is very polished for a Class of ’18 running back. His unique skill set is one reason why multiple colleges are keeping such close tabs on the rising junior.

“I’m hearing from Bama, Miss State, Ole Miss, Georgia, UNC-Charlotte, UT-Chattanooga, Western Kentucky and Old Dominion,” Custis said.

After grinding all offseason to improve his game, Custis has set the bar high for this fall. “My goals are to be a top RB in the state & top 5 in the nation, rushing for 1,500 plus yards & 20 plus TD’s.”

The Lovejoy running back will once again be the featured back on offense after starting all of his sophomore season. If you are interested in recruiting Zion Custis, click HERE to visit his Recruit Georgia profile.
