Tyler Bird’s Summer Recruiting Update

Tyler Bird camped at North Carolina today and had another strong outing in front of Power 5 coaches. The Class of ’18 linebacker from North Paulding had one play where he stood out especially. Manning up 1 v 1, Bird stuck to the receiver like glue and made an incredible one-handed catch for an interception.

Plays like that are one reason why we have spoken so highly of Bird’s coverage skills in the past on his profile. His improvements are a testament to how hard he has worked during this offseason.

The young linebacker’s summer schedule is full of camps throughout the Southeast, and he has several more stops to go.

Bird’s camp schedule:
June 4 – Mercer
June 5 – Georgia Tech
June 8 – Clemson
June 17 – North Carolina
June 18 – Duke
June 20 – Vanderbilt
July 15 – Furman
July 16 – Wake Forest

Bird spoke about his camp experiences thus far.

“The first string of camps went great,” he said. “I really enjoy competing and learning from the coaches. While at the camps I have really improved my footwork and my coverage skills.”

Improving his footwork and refining his fundamentals aren’t the only ways in which Bird has improved the last few weeks. He has also found more confidence.

“These camps have also showed me that I belong and can compete with the highly rated players that are there,” Bird said.

With camps at Duke and Vandy this upcoming weekend, Bird is eager to get back on the field. “I can’t wait to work this weekend and again next month.”

Bird boasts a 3.9 GPA and scored an 1190 on the SATs from the test last May. If you are interested in recruiting Tyler Bird, click HERE. Also be sure to LIKE our Facebook page to read more stories like Tyler’s.
