Tigers Land Rome Trio

The LSU Tigers just had a major recruiting coup from talent-rich Rome HS, the Class 5A State Champions in the state of Georgia. This weekend Ja’Quon Griffin, Jamarcus Chatman, and Adam Anderson all committed to the Bayou Bengals.

The dominating trio from Rome High School controlled a Buford offensive line that sent 4 seniors to play division 1 football back in the State Championship game in December. After watching the game, it was apparent that the Rome defensive line were at another level, and our 2018 rankings had to reflect that.

LSU is landing three players with a physical mindset perfect to play in the trenches at the SEC level. Both Anderson (a one time UGA commit) and Chatman had over 30 offers and were considered to be national recruits. Some eyebrows might be raised about Griffin, who was offered just last night, but he is a technician at defensive tackle, and he displays some of the best fundamentals in Georgia.

The Rome star defenders will look to repeat as champions this fall in the same dominating fashion we saw last year, and then expect very similar results at the next level for LSU.  They are the 14th, 15th, and 16th commits in the Tigers’ 2018 recruiting class, and the first three from the state of Georgia.
