South Georgia Player Rankings v2.1

Version 2.1 of Recruit Georgia’s 2019 South Georgia Player Rankings eyes expansion from a Top 30 to a Top 33 with three new names. Each new name is BLUE.

The highest new entry at #16 may be a surprise to some. Last season as a sophomore Quevan Lawson of Turner County racked up 48 tackles, 16 TFL’s and seven sacks. Lawson has the length and explosion to project as a hybrid DE/LB.

Coming in at #19 is another sleeper. Through the first ten games of the season last year Winston Wright, Jr. rushed for 986 yards and 16 touchdowns on just 89 carries. He also added 23 tackles and one pick on the defensive side of the ball. Wright has the speed and ball skills to project as a corner, receiver and return man.

Right on his heels is defensive back Jakeen Harris of Benedictine. Last season for the State Champion Cadets Harris recorded 64 tackles, six TFL’s, nine PBU’s and three interceptions. Look for Benedictine to make another run to Atlanta this fall.

Frederica Academy has a pair of athletes that are blowing up on the recruiting front. Jashawn Sheffield has nearly 20 offers while Jaylin Simpson is about to hit double digits.
Brunswick’s Warren McClendon continues to gain offers and should be considered the hottest offensive line prospect south of Gnat Line in the class of 2019.

The big news in Valdosta was the fact that Lowndes running back Travis Tisdale picked up his first offer. That offer was a big one coming from the Bayou Bengals of LSU.

Any coach that feels that their sophomore athlete has been missed on this early list should contact us via twitter @BVEvery or @RecruitGeorgia. Please include the hudl link when promoting your player and the film must be at the varsity level.
