Thompson has legit 10.8 100M speed but didn’t even play as a junior, so there isn’t much film outside earlier in HS and a few off-season workouts. He started off his senior year well though with 165 yards and even a blocked punt to help route Gainesville in the Corky Kell classic. At 6′ and 170 lbs. he does show that springy type running style and has a knack at getting open on long crossing routes. Thompson is the type of player who can beat you with short routes, turn those into explosive plays but should have the top-end speed to burn you deep though. At the beginning of the season, we felt it was rushed to think FBS programs should be all over Thompson, but he has continued to produce and even though we watched the Corky Kell game live, we wanted to see more film. He had a really impressive game against Cambridge where he really showcases his speed and the ability to house even the most routine catches. He has a really good-looking running stride but also shows a good ability at tracking deep balls and timing his acceleration into the catch in some cases. We think FBS programs should really consider Thompson.
