Boatwright has excellent size at around 6’3″-6’4″, but what makes him even more attractive is how he uses it. He times his jump pretty well, but would like to see him square up on the football more times than not. Long running stride, picks up yardage quickly. Doesn’t accelerate quickly though. Fights for the football, takes contact and doesn’t lose focus on the football. Runs pretty good routes from short to intermediate, changes directions quickly on his comeback. Fights for extra yardage, and a little more time in the weight room and I can see him being a problem. Does a nice job of breaking off his route once the play breaks down and finding a hole in the defense. Needs to be more aggressive as a blocker, Boatwright will definitely be targeted by option teams due to his length and ability to stretch the field vertically once he strides completely out.
