Baker originally got his start at John Milledge Academy, but transferred over to Hughes for his sophomore season. He’s filled out quickly since he filled out the form in late 2022 and now stands around 6’2″ 200 lbs., which is a 2″ and 22 lbs. difference. In terms of pure athleticism, Baker is one of the standouts in his recruiting class. He most recently ran a 10.6 100m time and a 21.93 200m during the spring of his sophomore year. That speed translates to his film, and right at the jump, Baker is hitting his top gear with the football. His acceleration into his top speed is elite. His immediate burst is coupled with solid patience for his blocks to materialize, and he shows solid vision cutting back against the grain. Baker does a good job of keeping low with his pads, Considering how he has continued to grow as an athlete, Baker could explode onto the scene of his junior year and be an All-State candidate by the end of the season. He will have a tremendous offensive line up front, so the 2026 running back will be one to watch closely. Baker has a mix of D1 offers with Pitt being the first back in December 2023 and Georgia State the most recent in March. His recruitment is still just starting, but he should be a national recruit with most Power programs in pursuit if he continues to build on his promising sophomore campaign. His athleticism alone will probably have colleges offering during this evaluation period.
