McGowan Delays Decision

Dalton wide receiver Kyric McGowan was planning on making a decision today between Vanderbilt and Duke but has decided to hold off and reevaluate his decision timeline. At this point, his new top four schools are Duke, Mississippi State, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.

Kyric McGowanMcGowan posted on his Twitter page saying, “I’ve decided this week to wait just a little longer. I really want to step back one last time and really evaluate where I want to be for the next four years. This is one of the biggest decisions of my life, and I just want to be sure. The schools listed below are my top schools that have offered me and that I’m still looking into. All new offers are welcome. Hope you guys respect my decision.”

The Dalton wide receiver has had a meteoric rise this recruiting offseason. Going from zero to start the month of March, to double digits at the end of April, McGowan had schools all over the country stopping by Dalton H.S. during the evaluation period.

Earlier this year at The Opening, McGowan ran one of the fasted 40 times clocking in at 4.48. His breakaway speed makes him tough to catch on the field and puts pressure on the defense. On any play, the Class of ’17 receiver can find a seam and be headed toward pay dirt.
