Shakari Denson is probably on more college coach’s radars than one might think after his strong freshman campaign, but to the general college recruiting world, he is not yet established name that the masses are following, just yet. It’s pretty clear that the sophomore out of Claxton can play the game.
Just last week the two-way athlete intercepted a pass off a deflection against Savannah Country Day, and then returned the ball all the way back for a pivotal score that led to a major 32-10 upset victory. The return itself was remarkable in it’s own right. At one point, he seeming crawled under several would-be tackles in route to the score, and the #2 play in the state of Georgia for Week 7.
Checkout some of Denson’s other early season film and you will realize he’s just a big play waiting to happen. Whether he is intercepting passes, making long touchdown receptions or returning kicks back for a touchdown – it honestly doesn’t matter where he lines up, the sophomore makes an impact.
Right now, Denson has 5 touchdowns on the season and 3 interceptions as well. His Claxton team is currently 4-1, and after huge victory over Savannah Country Day, they are a consensus top 10 team in the state of Georgia for Class A Public.
He’s a natural in coverage at cornerback, and does an outstanding job playing the football on his pass breakups. Denson is a talented tackler out in space already, especially for a player with slighter frame at this current point in time. The class of 2021 athlete just does not give up on a play, and will fight for every extra yard.
Keep an eye out for the electrifying sophomore as his Claxton team is playing some of the best football they have played in years. In fact, this the 2nd time this season a Claxton player has made our top plays with Myles Freeman showing out on a double juke and score back in Week 4.
Be sure to checkout Denson’s film at the top of the page, and give him a follow on Twitter too. Just got word tonight, but Denson made the Hudl Top 5 as the #2 play in the country for their platform.
