Flournoy Makes Recruiting Rounds

About 7 months ago, Zaire Flournoy’s expectations going into college recruitment process was mostly wonderment, but that was truly short lived. Soon after the season was over, back on November 4th, Zaire Flournoy earned his first offer from Coastal Carolina, an thus kicked off the 2020 offensive linemen’s recruitment.

Fast forward to now, where Flournoy has way over double-digit offers from colleges across the country, and has gained experience during the roller-coaster ride that is the college recruiting process.

“Recruiting is going well, it started off going very fast, but it’s slowing down now, and getting easier.” Flournoy continued, “I’m going to be at KSU and Mercer mega camps and then I’ll go to some other college camps after.”

That quote was prior to camping at the mega camps this weekend, and the big man from Chapel Hill earned an offer from Navy. The Midshipmen follow a long list of schools that recently offered in the month of May, including: UNLV, Charlotte, App State, Ohio, Illinois State, Liberty, Kent State, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, NC A&T, Grambling, Troy, WKU, Tenn State, UT-Chattanooga, and Army. Seriously, it’s been a hectic recruiting process for Flournoy, but he still has a lot to prove.

“I’m looking to show colleges what I have to offer. I do have college offers from a lot of schools, but there are some specific schools that I would like to prove what I can bring to the table,” he said.

The month of June could be huge Flournoy, with several more college camps in the fold, this is a great time for coaches to see him live, and how his crazy length (around a 7′ wingspan) can make a difference at the next level. The rising senior has a lot of colleges after him, so it’s not a complete surprise to learn about his commitment timetable.

“As of right now, I am going to make my decision before the season starts.” Of course that can change rather quickly, but the 2020 recruit wants to be locked into his senior year, so his team can have maximum success.

“I want to bring the whole team together as a unit and I would like to make it to the playoffs because we didn’t make it last year so I would like to make it this year.”
