Class A public might have the smallest schools in Georgia but they are certainly not short on talent. Jumping right into the offensive side of the ball, which is headlined by Gunnar Watson at quarterback. The Taylor County senior threw for 2,037 yards, a near 67% completion, while tossing 21 TD’s and just 6 interceptions. The Troy football commit has elite footwork in the pocket.

Fellow Taylor County teammate Lyn-J Dixon averaged 174 yards rushing per game last season and amassed a total of 2,537 yards.  He has elite quickness and committed to Tennessee. Clinch’s Charles McClelland only rushed for 1,159 yards but averaged an impressive 9.7 ypc and 15 TD’s in their Wing-T offense. Miller County’s class of 2019 back Chris Stovall rounds out the RB’s. He is a thick running back showcasing a ton of power and determination after contact. He rushed for around 1300 yards last season.

Trey Brown is the returning leading receiver in Class A public. He will look to repeat over 1000 yards, but will be breaking in a new QB this fall. JP Palmer had over 1100 total yards last season and played a pivotal role in McIntosh County Academy’s state runner-up finish – he has elite speed and quickness. Dazhun Steele is a high-pointing master at Emanuel County Institute with a large frame at 6’3″ 208 pounds. He too will be breaking in a new QB, and will look to improve on his 801 yard and 8 touchdown season. Wilkinson County senior Brandon Mays had 17 touchdowns last season and is a threat to score from almost anywhere on the field.

Travis Glover is a high-upside player at 6’5″ 315 lbs that has been working hard on his craft this offseason. We are expecting a great season at Dooly County this upcoming fall. CJ Leggett is a consistent center for Macon County’s high-powered offense, and especially good at picking up blitzes. Christian Meadows (6’4″ 330) is his teammate and possibly the most dominant player in Class  A public. He is committed to Florida State right now, but Georgia has been making a push as of late. Mitchell County offensive lineman Devin Vicks is a physically tough player, who gets a great initial push at the line of scrimmage. Austin Connor is a massive sleeper out of Marion County, and is a slobber-knocking hitter. He has good size at 6’2″ and 255 lbs. Greene County offensive lineman Anton Kirkpatrick was an All-Region offensive lineman with a ton of upside a 6’4″ 250 pounds. He paved the way for Devin Wynn who led Class A public in rushing with 2300 yards last year.

Gordon Lee kicker Jarrett Lassetter made 36 of 38 PAT’s last season giving him the highest percentage in Class A public. AJ Kahrmann (6′ 180) from Telfair County does a great job of angling his punts inside the 20 yard line with little room for returns.

Tyler Moore is our preseason All-State athlete. He is the returning passing leader in Class A public throwing for 2278 yards and 29 TDs, while also rushing for 300 yards. He also played defense where he totaled 65 tackles and 4 interceptions. Raykwon Anderson from Charlton County easily takes the All-State return spot. The Florida Gator commit’s highlight reel is like watching a video game – he is just too elusive to catch!

Moving over to defense, John Mincey is a defensive end from Clinch County with a massive frame at 6’4″ 255 pounds. His size and power to dominate his side of the field warrants double teams on most snaps. Curtis Fann from Emanuel County Institute had a very impressive sophomore campaign. He is a debilitating tackler who tears the ball carrier down like a rag-doll. Raeshawn Walton is a dominating defensive tackle for Manchester at 6’2″ 275 lbs. He is extremely light on his feet making plays for one of the top defenses in Class A public. Commerce defensive tackle Cody Ridley had 74 tackles and 4 sacks. He has a motor that never stops and has gained another 25 pounds of muscle from last fall. Junior Quevan Lawson is a physical freak from Turner County that has grown a lot in the last 12-15 months. Last fall he totaled 7 sacks, 48 tackles and 23 tackles for loss.

Clinch Co. junior Trezman Marshall could be All-State at a number of positions, but his impact at the linebacker spot is something special. He is a punishing player, and one of the biggest hitters in the entire state of Georgia. Commerce linebacker Chase Forrester suffered an injury halfway through last season, but when healthy he showcases explosive tackling. He should pile up the solo tackles this fall and be a leader in that category. Jontavious Ferguson is the leader for Manchester’s dominating defense. The senior has really good instincts and the size/power to stop any ball carrier dead in their track in the classification. Malik Barnes (6′ 215 lbs) from Mitchell County is another impact linebacker who shows elite speed getting out to the sideline. The 2019 backer is a tough customer and totaled 129 tackles last season.

Michael Campbell is an elite athlete from McIntosh County Academy who is capable of making elite high-pointed interceptions. Safety Kalil Brawner is a big hitter out of Manchester with great football instincts finding the ball. Randolph Clay safety James Mock returns from last year’s All-State team. He has elite ball skills and picked off 3 interceptions, to go along with returning a fumble 58 yards for a score. Crawford County senior Nicholas Jackson did everything for his squad last year amassing 1472 total yards, while also totaling 51 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Java’n Singletary is a very talented junior from Hawkinsville who hits like a bag of hammers, and has elite ball skills going up for interceptions.
