Clark Picks the Mercer Bears

MORE COMMITMENT NEWS

Bailey Clark from Benedictine Military School announced earlier this evening his commitment to Mercer. The Class AA All-State defensive tackle made it all official when he Tweeted:

Clark was an integral part of Benedictine’s success this last year, especially in the state championship game where he did a great job of shutting down Fitzgerald’s running attack.

The run-stopping defensive tackle also held an offer from Savannah State, but the young Mercer Bear program has a promising future in the Southern Conference, and the senior was ready to sign on. Coach Lamb and his staff did a great job of sealing the deal, and got the big man on campus on January 23rd, where Mercer offered him on the spot.

With his commitment, Mercer is landing a fundamentally sound lineman who keeps a flat back and moves well across the line of scrimmage tracking the ball carrier. He has long arms, which allows him to get outstanding leverage on his opponent.

According to 247 Sports, Clark is the 9th commit for the class of 17. Tomorrow and national signing day will certainly be an exciting period for fans of the MUvement, so stay tune to @RecruitGeorgia to hear the latest recruiting news for Mercer and everything else Georgia recruiting.
