West Georgia is Lester’s College Destination

Bailey Lester, one of the top defenders in Class 3-A, and the beating heart for State Champions Calhoun made his commitment earlier today. All-State senior linebacker pledged his commitment to West Georgia.

Lester was offered by The Wolves on December 8th right after his impactful state semifinal win against highly favored Cedar Grove. The senior ended up with well over 100 tackles on the year and was a nightmare in opposing team’s backfields with double digit sacks and tackles for loss. His ability to create negative plays for the offense changed games and set the tone for the Yellow Jacket defense all year long.

West Georgia has been closing strong with this 2018 recruiting class securing several players who were over looked from out of state teams. They are easily putting together a top 5 Georgia recruiting class for DII teams, and should be in contention for the #1 spot.

Landing players like Lester will do more than just improve on the field metrics, and we expect the senior to be a vocal leader for his new college. Lester brings a ton of experience over to the Wolves and we can see him having a big impact for them during his college career.

Lester sports a 3.4 GPA, and his high character serves as an example that all student-athletes should strive for. He is a hard worker, making a ton of improvement to his weight lifting numbers over the last year, which resulted in 15 pounds of muscle added to his frame. Over the next year we can see him adding another 12-15 without losing any of his 4.8 speed. The Wolves are landing a high IQ football player who is battle tested at some of the most competitive stages of Georgia high school football.
