Georgia Southern Nabs Top Rated LS

Payton Dunagan was very serious about being a college long snapper when he contacted us a few seasons back, and today that dream became a reality with his commitment to Georgia Southern. The West Forsyth senior earned a scholarship offer last fall to Georgia Southern, and visited the school several times throughout his recruitment.

The 2018 recruit is rated by Chris Rubio as the #1 long snapper in Georgia for the class of 2018. At 6’2″, and a few M&M’s away from 240 pounds, Dunagan has a nice frame to play at the FBS level. One aspect to his game that has always stood out is the velocity he fires his snaps with.

Dunagan has a 3.5 GPA, and has been selected by the Nobel Family to the Nationa Society of High School Scholars. The senior is a perfect example of how to go about the college recruiting process, he signed up with several services early, visited colleges, and built strong relationships with college coaches during those visits.

Several Power 5 programs came in late, and were interested in Dunagan offering a PWO for the senior, but the relationship with the Georgia Southern staff proved to be too much. Expect Georgia Southern to shore up any snapping concerns for the next 4 years as Dunagan has been money during his entire high school career at West Forsyth. Georgia Southern has made a really strong push in the last few weeks, and with national signing day just 6 days away you can expect more news coming out of Statesboro.
