Here are the Week 7 standouts from our weekend research. We have a quick write-up on each of the 10 athletes we selected with individual game film included, if possible.
We also have a poll for our Player of the Week directly underneath that will end Tuesday at 10 p.m. You can only vote once per hour! The winner will get a featured story on the website and a custom highlight video.
Weston Bryan
2025 Lee Co.
Quarterback
Week 7’s premier showdown between Lee County and Thomas County Central was delayed until Saturday afternoon due to the hurricane. Thomas County Central was keying on star Lee Co. RB Ousman Kromah, so Lee County needed an answer running the football, and senior QB Weston Bryan was the answer. He rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns while also passing for 134 yards on eight completions. Lee County won 35-23 and secured the unanimous #2 team in Class 5A. Bryan was a beast hitting a top of 21.8 MPH, which given his 6’4″ 240 lbs. frame, is insane. Serious, what?! The Georgia Southern commit is looking like a steal.
Decorrion Daniels
2026 Perry
Athlete
If your team scores 80 points in a game, then someone had to put up the offense, and this week it’s Perry junior Decorrion Daniels who amassed 279 all-purpose yards and had an interception that was returned 75 yards. The dynamic junior was all over the field with 2 catches for 95 yards, 7 carries for 51 yards, and 133 kickoff return yards. He scored one touchdown each from receiving, rushing, and special teams. Daniels is an exceptional athlete who can juke a defender out of his shoes and then shows the top-end speed to house it from anywhere on the field. The 5’6″ back will be someone to watch closely going forward, his explosiveness is unique.
Rashawn Truell
2025 New Hampstead
Quarterback
The Perry vs New Hampstead game was a track meet on turf, and no other player tested that premise better than SR QB Rashawn Truell. He broke the GHSA single-game passing record with 635 yards on the day, and by my count, Truell also had 6 touchdowns. Truell’s poise and patience in the pocket led to huge plays, especially down the middle and he once again showed his tremendous touch leading receivers deep down the sideline.
Demetrius Dowdy
2026 Winder-Barrow
Running Back
Dowdy breaks the school record with 347 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns school record in a crazy 57-43 win over Habersham Central. He rushed for 1013 yards as a sophomore and has surpassed that mark with 1046 during his junior year. The junior is averaging 174.3 yards per game and has 13 touchdowns. Dowdy is a stout 5’11” 205 lbs. runner who grinds out tough yards and will drag defenders forward. The junior holds offers from USF and Rhode Island, going back to the evaluation period in May, but we suspect more colleges will be lining up to offer soon.
Jordan Washington
2025 Monroe
Quarterback
Monroe SR QB Jordan Washington was on fire during their huge 33-28 win over Dougherty. The senior threw for 301 passing yards on 12 completions and 3 touchdowns while also rushing for 176 yards. Amazingly, Washington nearly totaled 500 yards of offense in just one game. The senior has thrown for 1311 yards and 10 touchdowns while also rushing for 507 yards. No film currently from the Dougherty game, but we have included his midseason. What stands out from watching Washington’s film is his ability to create on the fly, escape out of the pocket, and find open receivers. Monroe has played a tough schedule, so Washington’s film is against tough competition and he still shines. Looks to be a hidden gem in Georgia.
Kadiphius Iverson
2025 Westside-Macon
Running Back
Westside-Macon almost pulled off the upset win over #2 Morgan County, and in large part, Kadiphius Iverson was the main reason. The senior rushed for 314 yards and had 4 touchdowns on the night as Morgan County narrowly escaped 35-32. The strong senior back has been a mission this year and proved to be one of the top runners in 2A with this performance. Iverson has earned offers from a mixture of DII and NAIA programs while continuing to grab interest from an FBS program like Kennesaw State, who see the 6′ power back as a potential option.
Darrius Favors
2026 Manchester
Running Back
A top 10 Class A DII showdown between Trion and Manchester was the talk of the lower classifications heading into Week 7. The Blue Devils quickly took control of the game, and junior Darrius Favors was dominant on both sides of the football rushing for 239 yards on 10 carries and also totaling 10 tackles. Favors has great straight-line speed and was a 1000-yard rusher as a sophomore; he figures to be a central piece for Manchester to win a state title this fall. We will update if his Hudl pops up soon.
Nytraevion Jones
2025 Upson-Lee
Athlete
For the first time in 11 meetings, Upson-Lee beat Mary Persons 22-20. The game went into 3 overtimes, so every possession counted, and SR Nytraevion Jones’ impact was immense. He had 10 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, and a 60 kick return that he posted on Twitter/X. Aside from the momentum-changing touchdown, we don’t have any other film from the Mary Persons game so far but talk about a great game for Jones and a huge win over a local rival. The 6’2″ 205 lbs. athlete is a versatile hybrid defender that hits with authority in space. Jones has heard from D1 programs throughout his recruitment, but the 3.8 GPA student-athlete remains uncommitted.
Weston Taylor
2025 Cambridge
Quarterback
Weston Taylor engineered a 30-21 win over East Coweta over the weekend. The senior completed 18 of 25 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns and takes down 6A school on the road with relative ease. That is an attention-worthy performance, and so is the 6-0 Cambridge Bears, who are unanimously ranked in 4A now. Taylor is the straw that stirs the drink, finding his top two receivers who both had over 100 yards in the game. The 6’3″ 170 lbs. lefty is a smoother operator with his mesh on the play action and does a great job of going through his progressions. Taylor continues to impress each game; it’s only a matter of time before colleges start to recruit Taylor.
Jayden Barr
2025 Eastside
Athlete
At halftime, Eastside was in a 9-7 slugfest against Madison County but senior Jayden Barr had other plans. The 3rd quarter opened up with a series of touchdowns and Eastside won 37-7 with Barr rushing for 175 yards on nine carries and three touchdowns. For good measure, he also intercepted a pass. The Georgia Tech commit has been among the most versatile athletes in 4A this season and is a candidate to be All-State by season’s end.
