The Ohio Bobcats just earned a commitment from Tillman Weaver, a 2021 defensive end prospect from Riverwood high school. The senior had a good season last fall with 48 tackles, 8 tackles for a loss, and 5 sacks to go along with 7 QB hurries.
The performance was good enough to earn an invite to the Elite Georgia Classic back in December, which was televised on Peachtree TV and streamed nationwide. Weaver looked really good in that game showing good strength at the point of attack and utilizing his 6’3″ 240 lbs. frame to create havoc against the rush.
Soon after, Weaver’s recruitment started to heat up with offers. At first, it was smaller division schools, and then his recruitment popped soon after Christmas with his first FBS offer in Arkansas State. All of sudden Weaver’s recruitment was getting national attention.
Several more schools showed interest over the last month, and then today Ohio came in with an offer. Weaver didn’t take very long after to make his commitment to the Bobcats.
The senior went from a relatively unknown prospect to one with a whole lot of attention and will now be signing with Ohio University on National Signing Day. Weaver is the 2nd Georgia commit in the class of 2021 for Ohio, following Shakari Denson from Claxton who committed yesterday.
