Sleeper of the Day

Zyere Horton
2022 Milton

Horton looked like an impressive athlete in 2019 showing a wide assortment of skill level, and going into 2020 our expectations were big – we just didn’t know he would be at safety. Horton makes plays. That’s a fact. Horton reads the pass and uses his length to break up the pass. Junior year film is looking really good, making great reads on the football and using his excellent 6’3″ frame to break up passes. Open field tackling is very good. Outstanding closing speed to the ball carrier. No doubt that Horton is a P5 football player, and we think he will load up with offers this offseason before you know it. Horton is now up to 200 lbs. and is quickly becoming one of the more physically impressive defensive backs in the state of Georgia – it just makes you wonder if he doesn’t outgrow the position and moves to linebacker in college. Either way, you have to like his upside and ability to defend the pass at his size. At the moment, Horton has no FBS offers, but a good bit of interest.
