Rising Walton junior Matt Hall received surprising news Thursday evening when local school Mercer offered him his first college scholarship. The big Raider offensive lineman stands 6’6″ and weighs over 310 pounds.

Last season, Hall was rotated back and forth at the tackle positions, but this year he should be at home at LT. The rising junior is also an excellent student scoring a 28 on the ACT.
Hall visited Mercer earlier this year, as well as Oregon and Georgia. He also competed in the Elite JR/Soph Classic back in December.
On film, Hall looks like the prototypical offensive lineman, and many schools will be interested in his potential. He does an outstanding job of using his hands in pass protection, but we were also impressed at how light his feet look. Hall will need to improve his fundamentals some, as well as his flexibility, but we see a ton of FBS potential.
Mercer has done an excellent job of evaluating and recruiting Hall thus far. We expect many more colleges to become interested in the big Walton Raider offensive lineman, so stay tuned to Recruit Georgia for the latest news on Matt Hall.
