Jarrod Jones, an extremely athletic outside linebacker from Westlake High School, committed to South Carolina State over the weekend.

His decision was on the heels of a visit last weekend. Fighting his way through inclement winter weather, Jones made the arduous trip to Orangeberg, SC, where he had an excellent time hanging out with the staff and touring the campus.
The All-Region linebacker has great measurements, running a 4.7 40 and squatting over 500 pounds. He is a headhunter out their on the gridiron, making exciting big hits over the course of a game.
The senior uses his hands well and can shed most blocks with ease at the high school level. In pass coverage, he utilizes his vision to read the quarterback and makes big hits down the middle of the field.
Jones has all the makings to be an impact FCS player. He is also solid student in the classroom, holding a 3.2 GPA.
This is a great pickup for the Bulldogs, who absolutely landed one of the last big sleepers remaining in the state.
