Blessed Trinity Duo Commit to Cumberlands

University of Cumberlands picked up two big time All-State players from Blessed Trinity recently. Running back Milton Shelton (committed last night) and offensive guard Matthew J. Castner both decided to become Patriots.

Castner told Recruit Georgia the prospect of playing for championships was an important factor. “They played in the NAIA national championship 2 years ago. I want to work incredibly hard and play for that as well.”

An exciting moment for the longtime friends, who will once again strap on the pads together for another 4 years.

Scouting Scoop:

Shelton was one of the leading rushers this year in Georgia. He is very patient waiting for his blocks to set up and has great acceleration to fire through a hole. Once he has the ball, he squares up his pads and uses his great running vision to get up field in a hurry. He rushed for 2059 yards, on 256 carries, and 28 rushing touchdowns.

Castner is a road grader at offensive guard. Continuously you see him go head-to-head with 3 & 4 star recruits and dominate. Castner is a great competitor, during the playoffs he played the whole game on both sides of the ball. The big offensive guard usually averages around 6 pancakes per game. He also played defensive tackle in the playoffs, missing almost no snaps during the postseason.
