Calhoun senior Ryan Randall ended his recruitment tonight when the two-way athlete committed to Carson-Newman. Randall took to Twitter to announce his official commitment:
Blessed to announce I have committed to further my career and play football @cnfootball. @MikeT_CNFB @CoachAHutsell @RecruitGeorgia pic.twitter.com/uIhPWO3oVG

The senior’s recruitment picked up during the last month. Carson-Newman offered on January 5th, and the senior took a visit last weekend. The visit went great, and Randall got to see all the facilities and meet the coaching staff. The patient senior waited a few days after the visit before jumping at the opportunity to play at the school that has won five national championships at the Division II level.
Randall is a very good pickup for the Eagles. He has been an underrated recruit his entire career at Calhoun and is an excellent locker-room player who should fit into the program right away. He was voted by the Georgia Sports Writers Association as an all-state defensive back this year, tallying 70 tackles and five interceptions while also showing lots of intangibles. He also had 900 all-purpose yards this season and six touchdowns.
Randall has been a longtime user of the Recruit Georgia football recruiting service and is just another recruit to successfully sign with a college. Out staff estimates that over 90 percent of the players with profiles on the website sign to play college at the next level. He is an excellent student with a 3.7 GPA and a varsity letterman in basketball and baseball.
