Rockdale County Senior’s Grind

Written by: Mike Faulkner

Right out of Rockdale County High School is senior OT Christian Anderson, who previously this summer received his first two offers from Texas Southern and Lincoln University.

“I’m excited that I got them, you know you have to start somewhere, and at least I have the opportunity to play football at the next level,” Anderson said.

Anderson is still receiving contact from other schools during the offseason recruiting process. “Other schools like Eastern Kentucky, Southern Miss and a few more are still in contact with me,” Anderson said.

During the early stages of the pandemic, Anderson was working out in a teammate’s garage. Now the team and him are picking things up, working out together, and adding in plays.

During this offseason Anderson has worked on improving his strength. “I’m trying to get stronger and stay in the weight room and also be mentally ready for the season.”

A key thing that Anderson feels that he has to work on is finishing his blocks. “To me the key thing to work on is finishing my blocks, if someone is on the ground keep them there,” Anderson said.

RG’s Take: This upcoming fall will be huge for Anderson. The big OT has added close to 30 lbs. to his 6’7″ frame, and is set for a big season that will surely grab more D1 school’s interest. Point blank, Anderson is one of the biggest linemen here in the class of 2021, and his ceiling at the next level is one of the highest too. Before Covid-19 really hit, Anderson was just coming off the top OL honors at a GACA camp and also had his measurements at our combine. His 8’4.5″ standing reach was at the top among 100 athletes, and he measured out to be the tallest.
