Recruiting Recap 7/14

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! We got all of yesterday’s offers, commitments and of course our sleeper of the day!

We hope everyone across the state is staying safe, and wearing a mask when out in public. It seems like more counties are going to start the school year virtually, especially the ones closer to Atlanta. Right now, DeKalb is the only one confirmed, but with out a doubt, this puts a cloud over the prospects of a football season. That would be a travesty to lose a football season, so maybe the GHSA can adapt, and potentially push it back to the spring if that can salvage the season, but we fully understand that public safety must come first.

Either way, we are pushing forward here at Recruit Georgia as recruiting never seems to stop, so scroll down below and see the latest recruiting action here in the state.

Sleeper of the Day

Jamie Williams
2021 Thomasville

Williams has excellent length and does a nice job getting down field in the flats and making tackles out in space. He’s pretty good at reading the play, and his downhill attacking nature just seems like a good fit to play safety at the next level. Williams is physical in coverage too, and uses his hand to guide the receiver while still tracking the pass. He does an excellent job of moving his feet with the ball carrier, very reactive to what they are doing and he sets up his attempts nicely. Williams has a few big shots on film, but does seem to need more work with tackling consistency. Overall, I like how aggressive he is and the strength he shows raking the pass out. To me, he looks like a quality FS at the next level. Needs to work on hips quickness and acceleration more for CB. His length definitely plays a big part in these pass break ups too, which I think gives even more credence to him playing FS at the next level. Williams lone offer comes from Shorter back from last month.
