Recruiting Recap 7/15

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! I’m a little late today, spent too much time messing with the stock market, but here we go!

As most of you know, this feature covers all of yesterday’s offers, who committed and has a sleeper of the day. When offers start to uptick again, we’ll add back the heating up feature, but with only 5-10 offers per day right now, then we aren’t going to push it.

Outside of that, I hope everyone is staying safe and doing their part to slow down the spread of the virus here in Georgia. I’m excited for another year of football, but we all have to do our part to make that happen, and that starts with wearing a mask in public spaces.

Stay safe and be well! – David

Sleeper of the Day

Jack Butler
2021 North Oconee

Butler put together a solid junior year with 85 tackles and 4 interceptions. He breaks on the football pretty well showing nice acceleration. Needs some more work with his back pedal and just getting smoother in that aspect of his game. The state wrestling finalist plays very low and really drives in the opponent into the turf. Definitely a natural feel at defending the run, does a solid job sliding through the blocks and getting into the backfield. Good reactions with several diving catches for INT’s. Butler is a gamer out there on the field, if he continues to add weight, I could see some D1 programs really taking their interest up a notch or two. Needs to continue to work on hips quickness and getting better in pass coverage, but I think Butler can take his game to another level in the next year. Definitely worth tracking and seeing how he progresses, because he is a good physical tackler in the open field. The three year starter who has made All-Region 2x and was 1st team All-Area in 2019 is still looking for his first college offer from what we could ascertain online.
