Recruiting Recap 7/16

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! From our quick look of the internet, it looks like Cobb has followed DeKalb County to start virtually, and I’m starting to think that the rest of the metro counties will follow suit if they have not already.

We push through all of this by reporting recruiting news! So down below we have all of yesterday’s offer and commitments. We also have our sleeper of the day. Any other ideas for another feature for the recap while offers are down? Well post down below and we’ll give it a try tomorrow.

Colleges, feel free to contact recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com to hear about our premium database.

I hope everyone is staying safe and productive! – David

Sleeper of the Day

Nathan Vickers
2021 Richmond Hill

Vickers made our All-State team, and to be honest, has one of the best motors in this entire recruiting class. He has an insatiable appetite of creating havoc, and last year he had 14 sacks and 25 tackles for loss, which earned him first team All-State across the board for most media outlets, while also earning defensive player of the year for his region too. Vickers was huge last year for his team that made it to the semifinals. Vickers hits with impact and the ball carrier goes down quickly. Watching him split a double team then make a shoe string tackle is just great to see. For a player who is just barely 200 lbs., it’s amazing, but you see it routinely on film. Vickers needs to work on acceleration and agility. He will have to play linebacker at the next level. His ability to get off blocks will play dividends, but would like to see him get quicker with his hands too. Still, a super smart player, puts it all on the line. Extremely effective with his hands, he has great placement and gets very good leverage too which really makes him tough on the edge. Vickers has to have long arms with how well he gets underneath the o-linemen. Right now, the 2021 athlete has an offer from Presbyterian, but should end up with over double-digit before decision day in our opinion.
