Ridings Commits to Western Carolina

The Class A tackle king is officially committed. Davis Ridings out of Prince Avenue made his commitment announcement around noon today to Western Carolina.

“It feels great being done with my recruitment in very excited about the future,” Ridings said.

The senior chose WCU over offers from Kennesaw State, Bucknell, and Notre Dame College among other programs. Ultimately it was the long-term recruitment by the WCU staff that paid dividends.

“I chose WCU because of the coaching staff. Coach Mac did a great job in recruiting me and the future is bright for WCU! There is a lot of great things going on there and I wanted to be apart of it,” Ridings exclaimed.

‘Coach Mac’, also known as Andy McCollum has a long recruiting tooth in the state and does a great job of finding talent. He offered Ridings all the way back in March of 2020.

Ridings finished his high school campaign as the career tackle leader in the class of 2021 here in the state with 417 career tackles, ending out Norcross’ Jalen Garner.

“When asked about advice to future recruits Ridings responded, “My advice for future recruits is to take your time and weigh all your options. This recruiting process is long and hard and frustrating, but in the end, everything will work out. Just stay patient and go where you are wanted.”

That is some great advice by the senior and echoes something that we always preach that patience is key. Well, now the only patience Ridings will need is signing his LOI on February 3rd, and ultimately becoming a student-athlete at Western Carolina this upcoming fall.
