Ridings has been of the leading tacklers in Private the last few years with over 250 career tackles. He has a big motor and shows solid acceleration over to the football. Overall his football IQ and above average agility allows for him to slip by blockers. Ridings is a good tackler too, he does a nice job of dropping his hips and meets the ball carrier in the numbers. He has very strong hands too, getting off blocks with a nice punch and drives the blocker back who are always bigger than him. Ridings is an efficient tackler, you do not see many arm tackles and he takes consistent pursuit angles. His agility really is a big difference for Ridings compared to many other linebackers in his class with similar size, and should help bolster his recruitment among D1 programs.
