Ridgeland’s Walker Has Elite Speed

Stephon Walker out of Ridgeland High School is a name to remember. His spring film was just released, and quite honestly, there are just not many freshmen in the state faster.

5575064147197952The rising sophomore has been electronically timed at a 4.47 40 time. During this spring he posted a 10.81 100 meter. That is flying no matter what your age is, but for a freshman, it’s not of this world.

He’s not all speed, though. Watch his film and you can see that he already shows adeptness at playing the ball mid-flight, being sure to catch with his hands.

Walker is becoming more phsyical, and that was evident watching him on the defensive side of the ball. He uses a combination of speed and physicality to knife into the backfield on a few plays.

Expect the rising sophomore to be an important part of Ridgeland’s offensive game plan this upcoming fall. His speed stretches the defense, which will open up their run game considerably for All-State honorable mention running back Jalyn Shelton.
