Recruiting Recap 8/26

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and if you are new here, please checkout some of the other content around the website!

This feature sums up all of the recruiting happenings around the state from yesterday. We have offers, commitments and also our sleeper of the day. Hopefully this can continue to assist colleges in recruiting the state, but we also offer NCAA compliant information for colleges. Of course we also offer free public profiles for colleges to checkout too.

Outside of that, I hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe during all of this. Football season is 10 days away! – David

Commitments

Zion Jackson
2021 Archer
Army

Scoop: One of the best possession receivers we have seen from the class of 2021 is Jackson. He’s a very good route runner, gets excellent separation with his solid acceleration out his breaks. Jackson is set for a strong senior year here, and Army landing his commitment early is a good move for the Black Knights.

Sleeper of the Day

Darrell Ellis
2021 Hillgrove

Ellis is a smaller DT with a 5’11”-6′ height listing, but boy does he move with urgency, and I really like how he flows to the football. He doesn’t take a single second off and is just relentless getting off his blocks. Uses his hands really well, does a nice job of getting leverage and then rips through the defender. He keeps his pads pretty low, and uses his quickness to get around blockers. Behind a 5 star defensive linemen, Ellis was the best resturning defender on the Hillgrove defense from what I have seen. He creates constant havoc while displaying really good fundamentals too. His lack of height is mitigated by his long arms, Ellis definitely one of the biggest sleepers at DT in Georgia despite being on the smaller end.
