Recruiting Recap 8/25

Welcome to another, ahem late, edition of the Recruiting Recap! I know we are running late, sorry about that – had a busy morning trying to make some website fixes on the backend that will improve work flow.

Well, if you are new here, this is a feature where we cover all of yesterday’s offers, commitments and of course our sleeper of the day! Hopefully this feature has been helpful for programs the last 4 months, but we also encourage schools to checkout our NCAA compliant recruiting service. For more information, contact recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com.

Also, we are continuing to post more high schools into our team pages. High schools programs that are interested we are running this service for a limited time for $50 and will prioritize your athletes to have their profiles made ASAP.

Outside of that cases are trending down in the state, but unfortunately the mortality rate is not. Please continue to wear a mask, and social distance – stay safe! – David

Commitments

Shad Dabney
2021 Cherokee Bluff
Kansas

Scoop: Dabney as a sophomore was one of the top CB’s in all of Class A, then junior year he moved over to QB where he got most of his snaps compiling over 1500 all-purpose yards. Well, with Riverside Military shutting down for football this fall, Dabney found himself on the move to Cherokee Bluff where he figures to be a big piece to their puzzle. Dabney is a very good cornerback prospect with outstanding instincts and acceleration on the football. He is a P5 caliber CB for sure, and Kansas did a good job sticking out and beating out other national programs, most notably Syracuse.

Ozzie Hoffler
2021 Woodward Acd.
Kansas State

Scoop: One of the top pass-rushers here in Georgia is Hoffler. He is quick coming off the edge and is very active in pursuit of the ball carrier. Hoffler plays on one of the best defenses in his classification, and we are fully expecting the 2021 edge-rusher to make a jump here this fall and get 15 sacks on the year. Hoffler has the type of motor you love to see coming at his position, and we think he should be a solid player at Kansas State.

Sleeper of the Day

Eric Little Jr.
2021 Whitefield Acd.

One of Whitfield’s top graduating seniors let us on about Little. He has good size at 6’2″ and watching some of his RB film, he is obviously a pretty good athlete. I do think his potential is best served at the defensive spot. He shows some big hits on film, even if it’s mostly from blocking. On defense he definitely needs more reps, and tackling form needs work. He’s a very raw football player, I know the coaches at Whitefield are pretty good tho, so there is a good chance to make a jump senior year here. There are moments on film, like the 2:45 mark at running back he explodes out of a few cuts and shows good acceleration at RB that highlight his athletic potential. Original impression is that Little is pretty new to the game of football, but with the right coaching and experience he could end up being a nice surprise senior year. He appears to be working on DB stuff this offseason, which is really good to see, and where we think he fits best at the next level. Getting better with his backpedal and rotating over his hips. There appears to be a legit commitment here from Little, and I think his size and athleticism will really shine at FS this upcoming season.
