Welcome to a Friday afternoon edition of the Recruiting Recap! There was a minor hiccup in our scheduling yesterday, so this recap will span from Wednesday to the moment this was written. As always, we are doing our best to report all of the offers in the state, but if we have missed one from your parts reach out and we will correct it.
Commitments
Josh Dallas
2022 Trinity Christian
Liberty
Scoop: Dallas is one of the more versatile athletes in all of Class A. He is dynamic at both wide receiver, showing some of the best ball skills in this class while also being a talented defensive back. Dallas’ versatility gives the Flame a good problem in where he will lineup at the next level, but our gut says defense.
Nate Lewis
2022 Jeff Davis
Georgia Southern
Scoop: Lewis is a blocking-machine over at Jeff Davis. At about 6’4″ and maybe shade under 270 lbs. Lewis might not have the heavy-set frame of other FBS OL in the state, but his tenacious blocking style and explosive power at the point of attacks make him one of the best run blockers in the state of Georgia.

Heating Up
Adorian Favors
2022 Cedar Shoals
Favors is one of the bigger OL in the class of 2022 standing at 6’6″ and 288 lbs. Over the offseason his recruitment has been a slow burn of G5 offers stacking up, but yesterday he received his first P5 offer by way of Boston College. Favors has a good body composition at his height and carries his weight with a low center of gravity despite being so tall. He is a prototypical RT prospect at the next level, someone that we projected to land more P5 offers, so wouldn’t be surprised that more colleges jump in with interest here soon.
Griffin Scroggs
2022 Buford
Scroggs measured out at UGA’s Camp earlier this month at 6’5″ and 300 lbs. The next day he was over to Georgia Tech, where he was offered by the Jackets. He took a visit on the 7th to GT and the following day he was over to UGA for a visit where Scroggs was offered. Now with the top two in-state offers, Scroggs recruitment is setting up to be an in-state battle, but that probably won’t stop more P5 programs coming in with offers in the month of June.
Sleeper of the Day
Jai Barnes
2022 Cedartown
Barnes is a big-time sleeper at Cedartown at the moment. He is a state qualifier in wrestling. He is now up to 290 lbs. from his sophomore year. He is tough at the point of attack, splits blockers, and is in the backfield quickly. Tackling still needs to work. He uses his arms too much but shows off strength in how he gets them down still, even while blocked. He has definitely improved at getting leverage over the last year. Tackling looks better in his junior film. Definitely like the body control he shows moving with the play while engaged and is able to stuff the run against a good team like Rockmart in the early year. Barnes definitely got quicker at the point of attack, but laterally he needs more. He is showing good leg drive while engaged. Barnes is a NT at the end of the day – his best skill is clogging up the middle. He shows good overall body composition and balance. Good back arch while engaged. Overall, Barnes has made a lot of good improvements over the last year, and at 6’3″ and 290 lbs. he is set to be a tough opponent during the 2021 season.
