Brown On Pace To Be A National Prospect

Summer camp season means opportunity, and Sammy Brown out of Jefferson high school has stacked up P5 offers here over the month of June, and honestly, we don’t suspect that recruiting momentum to be ending anytime soon.

So far this summer camp season, the 2024 recruit has earned offers from Auburn, Virginia, South Carolina, and Ole Miss. The most recent coming today at Auburn while taking a visit and talking with coach Jeff Schmedding. They join Tennessee, Georgia and Georgia Tech, giving the 2024 recruit a total of 7 P5 offers.

At South Carolina’s camp on June 13th, Brown posted a 4.53 40 time, a 39.5 vertical, and 10’6″ broad jump and was offered again by coach Beamer. In the weight room, Brown entered high school at an elite level, and now just a year into his career, the 2024 athlete is squatting 485 lbs., benching 315 lbs. and power cleaning 315 lbs. as well.

To quote a track coach from an opposing school, ‘Brown is a freak of nature! The dude runs a 10.9 100m and weighs over 200 lbs – he’s unreal for a freshman.’

Last fall, Brown racked up 1368 rushing yards on 133 carries and 6 receptions for 18 yards totaling 19 all-purpose touchdowns. On defense, he racked up 41 tackles and 2 sacks while also being a big-play threat on special teams too. At the end of the season, there were serious deliberations around here to put Brown as an All-State athlete, which would be a first on this site. Regardless, Brown ended up being named Region Offensive Player of the Year.

At the next level, we suspect Brown will have his greatest impact on the defensive side of the football at linebacker. Considering his elite natural instincts for the game, and explosive athleticism, we suspect Brown will end up being one of the top linebacker recruits for the class of 2024.

Going into this fall, Brown is transferring over to Jefferson from Commerce now that his father, Mike Brown, joined the coaching staff. Sammy Brown will definitely be taking a jump up from Class a Public to 4-A and will immediately have a target on his new team’s back, who is expected to be the consensus #1 team going into this fall after finishing runner-ups in 2020.

For the rest of the summer? Well, we figure Brown will continue to rack up offers from schools across the country, so stay tuned to @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter to hear the latest on the elite athlete of Jefferson and athletes across the state of Georgia.
