Heating Up

David Conner
2022 MLK

Conner had himself a day landing offers from Jackson State, Alabama A&M and also his first FBS offer in FAU. The big 6’7″ 280 lbs. has always shown incredible raw upside but the progress he has made since last offseason switched him over to a FCS caliber recruit to now one that most FBS coaches should have on watch. Conner shows much quicker feet while engaged and better body control too. The recruiting interest is really starting to pickup, and just this morning Syracuse became his first P5 offer. Conner told Recruit Georgia that he is planning on going to the University of Florida next, so stay tuned.

Savion Riley
2022 Kennesaw Mt.

Riley has always been a plus athlete, that caught our attention as a rising sophomore a few years back at the Corky Kell Classic 7v7. He is a quick-twitch athlete with a great frame and excellent ball skills. His recruitment has caught on fire during the camp season with Liberty, Maryland, Duke and Miami-Ohio offering yesterday and Yale and Harvard a week ago. His recruitment is really starting to heat up and the 6’3″ athlete has incredible versatility that should capture the attention of every FBS school in the country.

Sleeper of the Day

Josh Pickett
2022 Lowndes

Pickett was a solid defender over at Lowndes with 70 tackles on the year. He is only 170 lbs. but plays much bigger than his listed measurements. He has excellent acceleration to the football showing FBS caliber closing speed. Pickett is very quick to react to the play. His 10’1″ broad jump that he scored this May surely shows his explosive nature. Love his tackling, does a very good job of wrapping up at the thighs and generates a lot of power from the hips. Pickett is a very good football player. He needs to continue to gain weight and work his way to 185 lbs. at the next level. Pickett has a lot of versatility to play NB or FS at the next level. I’m really impressed with his closing speed and tackling. Pickett is definitely a sleeper at the moment. Does a good job of lining up his tackle attempts keeping pads parallel to the LOS. Pickett is tough as nails too. Very high on the 2022 recruit despite the smaller frame. Pickett doesn’t have too big of an impact in coverage, at least not much on film or in the stat book with PBU’s, so would like to see progress this fall. That’s a little bit of a knock at the moment, but his athleticism is right there at the G5 level, and if he slips into the FCS then Pickett is an absolute steal. Right now, Reinhardt and Tenn Tech are the lone offers for Pickett, we expect more interest in the coming weeks during camp season.
