Recruiting Recap 6/10

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! I hope everyone is doing well on this rainy Wednesday. I know some HS programs have been eager to get back into action, but please remember there are rules to slowly get back into action for a reason! Jumping off my soap box now.

Many of you already know the drill. This recap tallies up yesterday’s offers/commitments, three players who are heating up, and of course, our always coveted sleeper of the day. There is tons of great information here posted daily, so please come back and checkout each weekday around noon.

We also provide an NCAA compliant recruiting database that is the best value in the country plus our free player database where we add in new players each day.

Thanks again for checking us out! – David

Three Heating Up

Deon Richardson
2021 Jones Co.

Personally, Richadson is one of the best defenders in all of middle Georgia. He hits with authority, flat out dismantling players in the open field. There is little hesitation in the way the 2021 linebacker plays the game. He’s continued to add good strength over the years, and is a nice fit at MIKE at the next level. Richardson has seen recent offers from Clark Atlanta, Tuskegee, NC A&T, Albany State, Tennessee State and Stetson all in the last 40 days. That’s a lot of FCS and II programs, and Richardson was also offered by Akron back in January. Will this recruiting momentum continue? Our bet is yes.

Denzel Moore
2023 Meadowcreek

We wrote a feature on Moore just a while back ago talking about his college upside purely based off his freshman film. Well, it didn’t take long for a FBS program to jump on with an offer. Florida State became the rising sophomores first legit FBS offer, but we suspect more will continue to trickle in over the next few months leading up to the season. More importantly, a strong sophomore campaign could really breakout his recruitment into double digit offers this time a year from now, so definitely a recruit to watch here. If he recruitment truly gets hot, then the offers could come earlier than expected.

Kelvin Drummond
2021 Windsor Forest

Drummond only has offers from Notre Dame College and Carthage at the moment. Some might argue the rising senior is more of a sleeper, and that’s probably true, especially since we graded him out as a FCS caliber recruit. Well, that status might not take much longer with the growing interest from programs like Kennesaw State and Columbia. Drummond is not the biggest of DE’s prospects, but he has a legit nose for the football and is very good deciphering the play, then disrupting the action before it gets started. I’m convinced that Drummond will land some D1 offers before it all said and done. He is just a natural football player that makes plays.

Sleeper of the Day

Cade Petty
2021 North Murray

The slot back played very well in 2019 making excellent cuts and being just a tough matchup for north Georgia teams. Returned a few crazy punts on the year, doesn’t seem to have much fear taking it up the middle with a lot of traffic. Petty did a lot for his team, sort of a swiss army knife. He slips out of tackles, pretty elusive to be honest. Petty tested out extremely well at our combine hitting on the top percentile on most of his scores. He has legit FBS agility and also a 34″ vertical to go along with an impressive 9’7″ broad jump. Petty did weigh only 170 lbs., and really need to improve in that capacity, but cannot teach quick-twitch nature of the North GA product, and his recruitment could very well take a jump senior year similar to another North Murray star last year in Ladd McConkey. That’s saying a lot, since McConkey eventually committed to UGA, but it’s not out of the realm of possibilities that Petty ends up going FBS. Our partner Tracking Football graded his raw athleticism as a G5 level recruit.
