Recruiting Recap 6/11

Welcome to another edition to the Recruiting Recap! We have another big day of recruiting here in the state of Georgia despite the many months we have endured of the recruiting dead period.

For those who are new, here we recap all of yesterday’s offers, commitments/decommitments, three players who are heating up and the sleeper of the day. College coaches definitely frequent this page, and I hope they take a moment to email us at recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com about our premium database, which I truly believe is the most in-depth information on the class of 2021.

Outside of that, I hope everyone is doing great!

Three Heating Up

Corey Robinson
2021 Roswell

Robinson is slowly accruing some offers here for the last 40 days. The big Roswell o-lineman stands 6’5″ 275 lbs. and excellent length with a 7′ wing span. Fordham offered the other day, and they follow up Austin Peay, Stetson and Tenn State. Maybe we are taking crazy pills, but Robinson is one of the best OL in the state in our book, and think he deserves more FBS interest, but for the time being, these FCS offers should continue to build momentum for the 2021 recruit.

Dylan Lonergan
2023 Brookwood

The 2023 signal-caller showed a ton of promise starting at QB in 7-A back in 2019. He’s got some legit arm strength, throwing a baseball over 90 MPH and certainly translates over to the gridiron too. Lonergan has been getting college interest for some time now, but lately he’s been on fire. Tennessee offered just yesterday, Penn State in early May and towards the end of April Vandy offered as well. That’s 6 P5 offers so far for Lonergran and we could see him almost doubling that total by the end of the summer.

Beau Shugarts
2021 Greenbrier

Anyone who has been following our account the last few years knows we are pretty high on Beau Shugarts. The rising senior was one of the state’s leaders among defensive linemen with 114 tackles, including 76 solos. He is set for a big year on the DL, but yesterday Charleston Southern came in offering at a new position, tight end. Shugarts now has offers at four different positions. Outside of yesterday’s offer, the state runner-up heavy weight wrestler in 6-A now has 6 offers to date, 4 of which have happened in the last 50 days here. His recruitment is heating up, and if the offseason progress holds true (gained 20 lbs. and looks more explosive), we think Shugarts is set for a big year on the defensive side of the football.

Sleeper of the Day

Jelani Miller
2021 Maynard-Jackson

Miller is tall enough that the 2021 tackle barely fits his head under a doorframe, so no matter how tall he is, either 6’8″-6’10”; Miller is probably the biggest athlete in the state. The basketball player turn football moves exceptionally well. He has good body control while blocking too and does a pretty good job of staying low while engaged – at least for how tall he is and new to the game. He is so long though, defenders really have no way to get his hands off them, and he shows good enough leg drive to really manhandle any player at this level. Not much film of him pass blocking, I’m sure he is definitely a work in progress with his footwork, but it’s honestly hard to find a player with the size and raw athleticism that Miller shows. It’s rare for sure, and over the last year we have not seen many players with this kind of size. Miller currently has offers from Alabama A&M and NC A&T. Hard to imagine that more D1 programs do not offer here soon – just way too much upside to ignore.
