Recruiting Recap 5/4

Welcome to another edition of the recruiting recap! As always, we will be discussing the offer over the weekend, including Friday, three athletes who are seeing their recruitment heat up and of course our sleeper of the day. This is a great way to get a pulse of the recruiting climate in the state of Georgia, but if you want detailed information to proactively recruit we advise to subscribe to our NCAA compliant recruiting service. Thanks to everyone who been checking out this feature the last few weeks, several college coaches have reached out saying how much they appreciate Recruit Georgia’s coverage. Three Heating Up

JaDarian Rhym
2022 Valdosta

Not sure there is a more coveted 2022 defender in south Georgia right now than Rhym. The long legged defensive back has excellent acceleration and makes outstanding breaks on the pass – housed one interception for about a 100 yard return. At 6’1″ and 170 lbs. he moves pretty well dropping back in coverage, especially for a sophomore. His recruitment has literally caught on fire though with FSU, GT, UGA, and Tenn offering in just the last week. He now holds 6 Power 5 offers at the moment, and it really looks like things are just heating up.

Cameron Dye
2021 Milton

The Milton offensive linemen is one of the best in his class, and shows the versatility to play multiple spots in his class. The 6’4″ 265 offensive linemen has earned offers from Eastern Michigan, Liberty, UT-Martin, Toledo, and New Hampshire over the last month here. Run blocking is definitely his best skill right now, he keeps a pretty flat back and does a good job of getting on his toes when driving the defender out of the play. He looks pretty quick pass blocking too. Nice agility and pretty quick feet – they run a lot of plays where he pulls to take advantage of quickness. Dye is a promising recruit for sure, and should be about 30 lbs heavier than a year from now. Looks like most games he is getting 6-10 pancakes. We have him projected to go FBS, and think April’s momentum will spillover into May with a nice bump in offers.

Avieon Terrell
2023 Westlake

The last name might sound familiar? Well, that’s no coincidence. The class of 2023 Westlake star is the younger brother of new Atlanta Falcons first round pick AJ Terrell, and if the word around the program is true, Avieon has the potential to be even better than his older brother. One thing is for certain, Terrell is already getting a lot more college interest as a freshman then his older brother did even as a sophomore. Just in the last week, the class of 2023 athlete has earned offers from Southern Cal, Clemson & Michigan State. He already has a slew of FBS offers right now, a lot coming right after the season ended, but over the last week there is some legit momentum, and one should expect more P5 offers coming in.

Sleeper of the Day

Kaleb Anthony
2021 ELCA

Anthony was an athlete that stood out right away when watching the state title game for ELCA. The quick athlete shows some outstanding acceleration. Seriously, he can close on the ball carrier and shows very good reactions when in coverage. He is a springy athlete with nice ball skills going up for a pass – making a few tough ones where he takes a lot contact but still comes down with the football. Anthony looks like a CB at the next level, and an added caveat is how well he tackles in the open field. I’m surprised to see the lack of FBS offers at this point. Anthony has some of the better CB film you can find in the class of 2021. He does a very good job of dropping his hips going into a tackle and is explosive driving his legs and the ball carrier back. Also I’m impressed with the variation of coverages and positions that Anthony has on film. He looks pretty good already in zone coverage especially. Expect the FBS interst to really pick up over the coming months for Anthony. Right now his sole FBS offers are from South Alabama and Akron.
