Three Heating Up

Antario Brown
2021 Beach

I’m telling you guys, there is not many 2021 running backs with the blend of speed and power like Antario Brown out of Beach. His HS coach hit us up last fall early in the year, and he stood out right away. Now it looks like Brown is starting to stand out among his competition for P5 offers, and just yesterday NC State and West Virginia joined South Carolina and Virginia Tech in pursuit of Brown. He’s 6′ 215 lbs., and over the last year at various camps has run between a 4.38-4.50 hand-timed 40. The P5 offers are going to continue to flow in here – his physical upside is just too much to pass up.

Matthew D Alexander
2021 Buford

The defensive tackle out of Buford has been accumulating offers even back to this time last year, but the last month has certainly been his best. It started on the tail-end of April where he earned P5 offers from Washington State and Arkansas, and then here in May Tulane, UT-Chattanooga, Army, Florida Atlantic and Charlotte have all offered. The 6’3″ 280 lbs. defensive tackle is a fundamentally sound player who has been working his tail off the last year. He is right at double-digit P5 offers. Should be interesting to see how his recruitment shapes up going into the summer months.

Jayson Gilliom
2021 North Gwinnett

Gilliom has excellent size at 6’2″ 190 lbs. and used that length to break-up 16 passes in 2019 for Alpharetta. But now the 2021 recruit is at North Gwinnett, and will look to compete against some of the top talent in 7-A. He received a recruiting shot in the arm yesterday where a trio of FCS programs offered after going almost a month with no offer. The long defensive back has been receiving a ton of interest from FCS programs in general. No doubt, Gilliom has the size and length to go up top and break-up a pass, and shows good potential as a boundary corner or even potentially sliding over to safety in college.

Sleeper of the Day

Eric Sanders
2021 Lee County

Sanders is a tough player, who brings the heat on each play. He has a relentless motor, and runs hard in pursuit. Frame is light, and will need to play more out on the edge. Pretty good speed, but could definitely improve considering his size. Sanders is definitely physical, but will need to pack on more weight during this offseason, and get stronger in his lower body. With all of his lifts combined, he is one of the strongest players for his size in the class, so adding weight my end up being a chore. Gets his hands on the football, has a few strips on the season. Projects as a WILL at the next level but need to see him make a jump in pass coverage too. Sanders intensity is very good when blitzed and he can get into the backfield quickly, especially on play actions. Strong hands at the point of attack, getting off blocks quickly. He recently posted a 38″ vertical, really showing how explosive the 2021 recruit is becoming. We have seen Sanders for a few years now, he was a good contributor on the 2018 Bainbridge state title team and played at a near All-State level in 2019. Going into the 2020 season Sanders is fit for a big year, and should be on your Preseason All-State watchlist. Sanders has an offer from South Alabama and just yesterday Austin Peay came in one too. In terms of explosiveness, intensity and work ethic there is not many linebackers in this class that can match Sanders. He is a must offer for G5 programs in my opinion.
