Three Heating Up

Michael Fitzgerald
2021 Roswell

The long springy wide receiver has been putting in major work this offseason after showing flashes his junior year. At 6’5″ and 195 lbs. he has one of the better possesion receiver frames in this class. He makes pretty hard cuts, shows above average quickness and like where he is improving as a route runner over the last few months. Fitzgerald has seen recent offers from Bryant, North Alabama, UMASS and Gardner Webb. That’s an eclectic list, but we think that he is in store for a recruiting boom here in the next few weeks. Fitzgerald should be on every G5 programs recruiting boards, and a strong start to his senior year could spill over into P5 interest.

Victor Burley
2023 Warner Robins

Burley stood out like a sore thumb for all the right reasons in the state title game back in December of 2019. The 6’4″ 255 lbs. defensive linemen is just a massive young man, and it didn’t take much time for major P5 players to take an interest. Just this month Burley has seen offers from GT and FSU. Earlier this year Alabama and Georgia both offered too. At the moment, Burley has 5 P5 offers, but that should double in the next month. Burley is a sure-fire P5 target here. His length and strong fundamentals are rare for a player his age.

Chance Gamble
2021 Fitzgerald

Gamble has really seen an upswing in D1 interest here in the last few weeks. The do-it-all athlete for the Purple Hurricanes earned his first FBS offer from Air Force at the start of the month, and Army followed suite a week later. Now both Bucknell and Lehigh have offered the 6’2″ wide receiver prospect. Gamble is just a good ole fashioned football player who can plug and play all over the field, but his ball skills and concentration separate himself from his peers. We think the D1 interest will continue to pick-up here for the rising senior.

Sleeper of the Day

Yusif Ali
2021 Gainesville

Ali is a compact athlete who can pop a ball carrier with a big hit inside the box. He does a very good job of getting low and going cheek to cheek. Ali is very tough playing off the edge and does a good job of setting it using his quickness and strength. He shows solid speed in pursuit. Takes pretty good angles and just generally shows good instincts closing on a ball carrier and finishing the tackle. He had a strong junior year, and his production was very high. I really like what I”m seeing in man coverage, and though he doesn’t have a ton of film he shows good quickness and does a very good job of getting his head around on the football in coverage. Ali will be underrated by some schools due to his height being only 5’10”, but he seems like a strong player to have on the edge of a nickle based defense where he can get out to the sideline and make tackles but also help out against the run.
