Recruiting Recap 5/27

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! I’ll admit, this report could end up being a tad sloppy, it was my birthday yesterday, and those who have been following along know that I take the whole day off from Recruit Georgia – so I potentially missed some offers.

Outside of that, you guys already know the drill. We are going to tally up yesterday’s offers, three players who are heating up and of course our sleeper of the day.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far, also be sure to checkout our profile page on the website – we will be adding more class of 2021 names to the public database each day.

Three Heating Up

Justin Meyers
2021 Washington-Wilkes

The WW safety was a standout at our combine over a year ago running a sub 4.7 laser time as a sophomore and a 35″ vertical. To say the least, he was on our radar. That’s G5 athleticism, and over the last month you have seen offers from Georgia State and Coastal Carolina to back it up. More colleges need to digest the 2021 recruit’s film here. Meyers can go up and get the football showing excellent speed and explosiveness covering the deep safety role. He is perfect for the FS at the next level, especially a scheme that runs a lot of cover-3.

Lyndon Cooper
2021 Carrollton

Been talking up Cooper since the start of the year as potentially the top center prospect in the entire state, and just yesterday he received his P5 offer in NC State. Cooper has been loading up on offers all offseason, but the technically sound linemen should really see his recruitment kick up here among P5 suitors. There is no-doubt in our mind that he can be a multi-year starter at the center spot at the next level. Definitely a 2021 recruit to watch the next few weeks here – Cooper could end up with multiple P5 offers here quickly.

Jairus Mack
2021 Clarke Central

Honestly, Mack was one of the best receivers in the state last year and we saw him burn some cornerbacks with P5 offers routinely on film. He has legit speed, outstanding timing not just with high-pointing the football, but also accelerating late to create added separation from the defender. Over the last month he has received offers from FAU, Coastal Carolina, EKU and NC A&T. With over 1000 yards receiving in 2019, there will certainly be a lot of eyes to see if the 5’10” tri-sport athlete can maintain that production with his old QB now graduated. Either way, we suspect more G5 programs will offer over the summer.

Sleeper of the Day

Quinton Bradford
2021 Norcross

Bradford has been on our radar dating back to his freshman year where he was already 6’2″ and close to 280 lbs. The powerful young linemen has now moved over to the OL and seems to get a lot of reps at the RG and RT spots at Norcross. He is a sound football player who gets good leverage on his opponent. Gets to the 2nd level very well, and does a nice job of locating his responsibilities. Needs to get his back flatter and to become more flexible in the hips – most HS linemen need to improve there tho. Moves well as a pulling offensive guard and makes tougher blocks out in space. Strong hands with above average length in his arms. Bradford is a tough offensive linemen who plays the game with a lot of urgency. Already maxed out with his weight most likely, probably a better fit for a run heavy option based system where his quickness can be exploited. Bradford currently holds offers from Pikeville and Campbell.
