Recruiting Recap 4/23

Welcome to another addition of the Recruiting Recap where we cover all of yesterday’s offers in the state, three players heating up and a sleeper of the day! As always, it’s your boy Recruit Georgia, aka David.

This is a great way to stay up to date with all of the recruiting news going around the state, but as always, we do offer more detailed NCAA compliant content for college programs, so please get in contact at recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com if you want to know to gain access. Outside of that, be on the lookout for more new 2021 profiles posting each night on our Twitter page.

I hope everyone is staying safe during the pandemic, and be sure to come back each day to read our recap Mon-Fri! Also, let us know if we are missing any offers, we will add immediately to this page.

Three Heating Up

Zy Brockington
2021 Colquitt

Brockington has been a starter since his sophomore year, and was a standout each time we saw him live at the Corky Kell. The powerful defensive line prospect is strong at the point of attack, and very quick out his stance. His brother is currently committed to Minnesota, and we think that he is on the brink of attracting more FBS interest as well. In the month of April he has seen offers from Grambling State, Memphis, Middle Tenn, Ohio, Western Carolina and UT-Chattanooga. Half the teams in the Sun Belt have offered now, and honestly, his recruitment could soar over the next few weeks.

Jamal Hill
2021 Kell

The Kell receiver was All-Cobb county last year with 13 touchdowns and average 16 yards per catch. He has very good body control, and a strong frame at 6′ 190 lbs. More and more D1 programs have started to take an interest over the last week, and Hill has received offers from Georgia Southern, Austin-Peay, Tenn Tech, EKU, FIU, UT-Chattanooga, Samford, Western Carolina, New Hampshire, Tennessee State and Gardner Webb. The FCS interest is obviously there, but expect a few more FBS programs to follow Georgia Southern and FIU in the coming weeks.

Preston Lavant
2021 Crisp Co.

Lavant has been a no-brainer FBS recruit since we first watched him play a few seasons ago. The 6’2″ 210 lbs. linebacker prospect moves like a defensive back, and hits with authority. He also touts a strong 3.7 GPA, so really think more high-academic P5 programs should take an interest. A few P5 programs like Louisville, Minnesota and Pitt have already stepped in with offers over the last few months. Wouldn’t be surprise to schools like GT, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt to jump in with an offer over the next week or two here. Definitely a 2021 recruit to watch closely.

Sleeper of the Day

Khay Loyd
2021 McIntosh Co. Acd.

Loyd played well his junior year at a number of positions, but shows the upside you look for in a college FS. The big hitting 2021 recruit goes in for kill shots on receptions down the middle, but also has the awareness to rake the pass out, which he does frequently on film. At 6’1″ and 180 lbs. there is little doubt aobut his frame to play FBS ball. Even more impressive is how he looks in man coverage and his ability to turn his head around and break up a pass, granted not against the toughest of receivers. He’s an imposing prescence, receivers in the region definitely seem to think twice when going over the middle. There is good upside here for Loyd, you can anticipate the 2021 recruit getting solid FBS interest throughout his recruitment and the proper jump his senior year might even attract P5 interest. Right now he holds offers from all three service academies, expect that FBS interest to shoot up shortly.
