PROSPECT FORM

Sleeper of the Day

Melvin McAdoo
2026 Wilcox Co.
Defensive Back

A junior that impressed in 2024 is All-State returner Melvin McAdoo. The explosive 5’9″ athlete out of Wilcox County led the state with 6 total returns for a touchdown, while also amounting 794 rushing yards and 223 receiving yards. That’s just on the offensive end, but defensively, McAdoo equally shined with 4 interceptions, 83 total tackles and 1 force fumble. His production was among the best of any player in Class A DII, so the All-State nod was easy. McAdoo has great football instincts and does a great job of reading pursuit angles while timing his cut precisely. That plays a pivotal role in his success returning kicks/punts. His ability to make a cut on a dime shows really good hip fluidity and seems like playing cornerback would be a natural fit for the 2026 playmaker. His ability to see the open field, cutting back against the grain and finding seams where many players would just step out of bounds shows his lack of fear and competitive mindset. He shows nice top end acceleration getting after the ball carrier. Like a heat-seeking missile, McAdoo takes direct pursuit angles and chops down with low tackle attempts where he does a nice job squaring up and being explosive. He is a solid tackler for 160 lbs. Shortly after the 2024 season, West Georgia, Arkansas State, Liberty, Georgia Southern and Tulane offered but his recruitment has been relatively quiet since late January. His production and film is quite honestly hard to match in the state, so we feel like more D1 programs should take note and follow the lead of the first few schools to offer.

Three ‘n Out

Big 2028 defensive lineman Chase Foster II has a planned visit to Michigan this weekend. This one caught our attention since just a few weeks back, Foster received an offer from Tennessee. Even with minimal varsity film, college coaches are impressed with the general size of the 6’5″ 255 lbs. defender. Whether Michigan offers on this visit or not won’t detract from the obvious recruitment momentum going into the spring evaluation period.

We have a 2026 OL who is flying under the radar in Joshua Castle out of Heritage high school in Ringgold. At 6’6″ and 285 lbs. Castle has the apparent size to play at the D1 level, but alas, no varsity film on his Hudl at the moment. Still, when coach Fleming talks about an OL, than we listen. He pounded the table about Bucky Williams throughout his high school career at Ringgold and now he is playing in the NFL. So we are eager to see more on his latest prospect.

Columbia OL Chris Hector had a solid sophomore season and is absolutely popping off with his latest film from the Trench Mob camp. The 2027 6’4″ 280 lbs. was a downright bully tossing guys to the side while showing abrupt-quick feet and strong hands with great leverage. Hector keeps it up this offseason than he might just nod as preseason All-State in 2A. My gut says that you’ll be hard pressed to find many OL in that classification better this upcoming fall, and the college attention should come along for the ride.
