Recruiting Recap 12/1

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to tell a friend or two about this feature! We offer the latest offers, commitments, decommitments, sleeper of the day, and potentially few more featured players too.

Recruit Georgia does strive to make this feature catered to college coaches, so it’s much more nuts and bolts than the fluff you see on other recruiting services, but hopefully, it can help push along everyone’s recruitment during the midst of a pandemic. Anyone interested in learning more about Recruit Georgia and the various services we offer please contact recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com!

Have a great day! – David

Commitments

Tyzen Wilkerson
2021 Grayson
Mercer

Scoop: The 6’2″ 250 lbs. senior OL at Grayson has started a lot of the year at LT. He is a strong fundamental blocker who shows wonderful back arch while engaged and is very agile sliding his feet. He gets out to his responsibilities in a hurry. Pops out his stance when pulling and making a block quick. Very good hip bend. Just a naturally good athlete who moves very well and has excellent power at the point of attack. Good pick-up for Mercer – Wilkerson is battle-tested against some of the top DL in the state and should do well at OG at the next level.

Sleeper of the Day

Dorian Helm
2021 Stephenson

Helm doesn’t exactly stand out when you just see his listed measurements but roll back his film over the last few years and you can see why the quick-reacting defensive back made so many plays. His feet are in constant motion, and he shows excellent quickness to go along with his innate ability to read the pass downfield. Helms is just a pure football player. He is built a lot more like a cornerback, and at the college level that’s probably a nice fit, at least nickel. Helm hits with authority, seriously the young man plays with reckless abandon down the middle of the field. Love how he closes on the football, and shows pretty good timing on his pass breakups. Helm also takes very good pursuit angles. He is aggressive taking on blockers despite being a shade under 180, has very good punch with his hands. It’s easy to see how another 15-20 lbs. could really open up Helm’s tackling, which is already some of the best of any defensive back in this recruiting class. Helm earned an offer last month from Notre Dame College, but has not seen much interest until last spring. He has a 3.5 GPA, and a 1000 SAT. Honestly one of the best uncommitted DB’s left in this recruiting class.
