Recruiting Recap 11/24

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and if you are new here, this is a feature where we cover all of yesterday’s offers and commitments. Sometimes we do a heating up feature and always our sleeper of the day where we highlight a senior who is being overlooked.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying Thanksgiving Week, looks there will be a great first round of games up ahead this weekend, and we’ll be coming out with predictions and top 5 games later this week. Maybe even fill out some brackets. BTW, I will not be doing recaps on Thursday or Friday this week, so after tomorrow that will be the last until next week.

We will have the first edition of our class of 2022 database for colleges looking to subscribe to our NCAA compliant recruiting service, so please reach out to @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter or email me at recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com. – David

Heating Up

Ashton Grable
2021 Wilkinson Co.

Grable is a 2021 OL who has a good bit of versatility to play RT or OG at the next level. He’s a big 6’5″ 285 lbs. OL who worked his tail off over the last year working on his footwork and getting stronger at the point of attack. His recruitment is really starting to heat up with Jacksonville State and Austin Peay offer in the last week, which doubles his offer total, but I think this really focuses his the increase in D1 interest in Grable. Go take a look at highlight reel that was made a few weeks back.

Sleeper of the Day

Dallas Vinyard
2021 East Coweta

Vinyard has some pretty solid film to his resume from his junior and unfortunately he has been hurt for most of his senior year. I’ll say, one thing that really stands out is hand placement when blocking, and shear strength when he is engaged. Vinyard vines the defender into the ground. He is pretty quick out his stance and shows very good leg drive while blocking. I really like how keeps a flat back while engaged, and he shows very good hip strength on film, even though we do not have his weight lifting numbers. Vinyard is on the shorter end, I can see that just from watching on film, but that doesn’t take away from the impressive production he shows against some talented D1 caliber defenders. What I like about the senior is the sheer volume in which he gets the defender to the ground. Didn’t matter the level of the recruit, Vinyard got the job done. He needs to get quicker sliding his feet in pass coverage, but I think there is some legit potential for Vinyard here as a center at the next level. Cannot teach his motor either, he just works his tail off. The lack of film his senior year is unfortunate, but should also highlight the wealth of talent East Coweta has. Vinyard has a 3.9 GPA and holds offers from Presbyterian, LaGrange and Reinhardt. We have put both his junior & senior film down below.
