Recruiting Recap 11/23

Welcome to another edition of the recruiting recap! It’s been a busy last weekend of the regular season, and we didn’t do a recap on Friday so we will be going back all the way to Thursday with all of the offers and commitments.

Not much else to say, so let’s jump into this recap! Feel free to contact me at recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com – David

Commitments

Devonte Ross
2021 Cartersville
Marshall

Scoop: Ross has been one of the more explosive athletes up in NW Georgia the last few seasons. He can flat out go. Throw a screen pass out on the sideline and let Ross do his thing. The 2021 receiver reminds us of Xavier Roberts from Rome from a few recruiting classes back. He is a dynamic athlete who can rip off a big play at any moment.

Heating Up

Felix Hixon
2022 Jackson

We talked about Hixon heating up late September, when you get offers from Florida, Georgia, Tennessee & Ole Miss in one weekend then I think it’s worth highlighting once more. Hixon is a fluid athlete at defensive tackle who has accumulated great production the last two years. The 2022 recruit offseason just started, and it’s definitely going to be a busy one as one of the more coveted defensive tackles in the state.

Sleeper of the Day

Kobe Hussion
2021 Villa Rica

The 6’4″ receiver has added 15 lbs. of weight over the last year and is now 185 lbs. The Villa Rica receiver used that added muscle to become more explosive out of his release, and he is breaking more tackles after the catch too. Hussion is a matchup problem and can catch the football through contact. He definitely has the ability to stretch the field with his long-running stride. Arguably his best play of his HS career occurred in his last game where he showed a crazy catch radius and made a good 180-degree adjustment on the sideline, then broke a few tackles and strided out for a long +50 yard touchdown. The senior should certainly see some college interest, we would like to see him continue to fill out his frame and just become more physical. He has the potential to be around 210 lbs. at the next level, and think he is set for a big jump in the weight room.
