Recruiting Recap 10/22

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Sorry for missing yesterday, it was a big errand day, and I still do not have my driver’s license renewed, but I did lose some time!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by, and if you are new here this is a feature that covers all of the offers/commitments over the last 24 hours, in this case 48 hours. We also have a sleeper of the day too.

There will be a lot of stories coming out today, so stay tuned! – David

Commitments

Andrew Cloy
2021 Creekview
Oliviet-Nazarene

Scoop: Cloy is a versatile 6’2″ 190 lbs. athlete for Creekview. He made first-team All-Region his junior year and has excellent grades with a 4.1 GPA. He’s very good at breaking off his route and finding holes in the secondary.

Manny Hayes
2021 Cartersville
Western Mizzou

Scoop: Just like his older brother, Manny gets after the quarterback. He just earned defensive lineman of the week over at Cartersville, and fresh off those honors he made his commitment.

Devin Lee
2021 Ola
Ole Miss

Scoop: Another Georgia athlete going to Ole Miss, almost like that staff had a head start on the state…. cough RG Premium. Well, big Lee is one of the top pass-rushers in the state of Georgia at DT. He is explosive out his stance and has strong hands at the point of attack too.

Heating Up

Shakari Denson
2021 Claxton

It’s no secret that we have been high on Denson since his sophomore year where he made the top play in the state of Georgia returning an interception for a touchdown. Ever since we have seen the 2021 athlete continue to progress, and is finally getting the FBS attention he deserves. Earlier this month, Georgia State offered, and now Kent State. In our opinion, Denson is one of the biggest sleeper defensive backs here in the state of Georgia, and we expect more D1 offers to pick up here over the next month.

Sleeper of the Day

Alexander Patrick
2021 Jackson

Patrick has a shake to his game and was one of the leading rushers early on in the state back his junior year. He showed flashes as a junior; going against Peach County he found ways to slip by tacklers and then keeps his pads low enough to fall forward on contact. Patrick has a nice hesitation to his running style and is quick enough to pull it off. Needs to work on his top-end speed, but senior year he does looked improved and already ripped off a few long runs. Really like his running style though, adding weight is really the biggest thing here for Patrick. He is probably around 185 and measured in at 6′. Patrick a D1 talent for sure, we love his running instincts and ability to break tackles – reminds of Pike Co’s C’Bo Flemister from a few years back now. Once Patrick gets to the 2nd level he is dangerous with faking out defenders. There is just too much upside for Patrick, and getting into a college weight training program and a few more years under his belt and should be a complete steal. Right now he had 519 yards rushing on 87 carries and 12 touchdowns in just 4 games – definitely a player on our radar to make All-State.
